“Every morning I wake up between 4 and 6am. The first thing I do, is to read something, not related to any form of politics. I then go running and listen to a different album everyday. I found out that a lecture or listen on something positive will define my state of mind for the whole day. I want to start this week with some light subjects. As we go further into the week you’ll see the mood of the news will change and create a whole, that in my opinion, represent somehow a part of the gentle moron that I am. Have a good day. Charles Derenne”

“To start the second day, I recommend to listen The Paragons- Only a smile. I first learned about the Weekly World News about 1995. It was just so perfect. It seems like a dream job to work for them in the future. I started collecting the printed version and making my own t-shirt from it. One of this t-shirt almost put me in jail at JFK, but that’s an other story. The more you grow up, the more you realize that these news are as relevant as some other Newspapers. Someone said: ‘It takes 5 newspaper in the morning to get an ounce of truth.’ Have a good day. Charles Derenne”

“When I was a kid few things were very popular and sort of conditioned a whole generation. Egyptology, Rocks, carving things with Swiss Army knives ( My man McGyver) and cars with such shows as Knight Rider and Magum PI. It didn’t take much to dig and find all sorts of rocks and stones. This passion kept on and where ever I travelled in life, I always tried to visit Natural History Museums & Mineralogy Museum. The world is a fascinating place and for a super-active kid this was the perfect place to focus. Have a good day. Charles Derenne “

“When I was a kid, my mum couldn’t have any other children and was working as a secretary an hour from home, I had to entertain myself as I could. I was hanging around at the local video club, or with some homeless at the corner of my street while skating at the bus stop station. With friends we would cross the whole city, thinking the city was gigantic and ours on our skates doing graffiti. I remember those moments like if it was yesterday. And I will write a book about it, just at least to get all those memories on paper to not be forgotten. My imagination came on one part from my early lecture. I was reading everything I could about Jack the Ripper. The macabre world he created fascinated me and scared me at the same time. That’s how I developed somehow a fascination for serial killers and mental cases, and their aptitude to create art work. There is a very strange mix feeling of attraction and repulsion at the same time. Have you ever lived that ? Have a good day. Charles “

“Movies like Art can influence your perception of things and develop something in you. For good or bad. I understand my grandmother, when she was saying that there was too much violence on tv and film. People like to identity themselves as the main character of a movie. She lived war and didn’t want to see horrors again. My grand father survived 5 years in Sandbostel Camp, Stalag X-B. He always played to me Marx Brothers, Laurel & Hardy, Chaplin, Buster Keaton. It’s only natural to identify as a kid to the protagonist of a movie. I am not here to judge but to give my opinion. Many people in this world can’t separate fiction from reality. I hope there was more Harpo and Groucho in this world. Have a good day. Charles Derenne. “
